PHP / Support Manager

Our team is committed to staying at the forefront of technology, and we are currently looking for a PHP / Support Manager to work on the frontline in a customer-facing role and deliver the very best customer service.

You will manage our PHP & Support Team, responding to incoming tickets and resolving technical issues and bugs in a timely manner so we deliver the best possible service to our clients. You’ll be a confident communicator with excellent problem-solving skills. You won’t be fazed by legacy codebases, but approach them with a ‘do-good’ mindset. You’ll be proactive with identifying issues and providing solutions for both projects and internal infrastructure and processes.

We’re based in Wakefield, but there is the option to work remotely.

You’ll be supported to deliver and develop as a member of our 6B family too. Not only will you receive all the things you’d expect (a clear progression plan and regular support from your team and line manager), but you’ll also receive 1 training day a month for you to spend developing and honing your skills, alongside paid-for training to ensure your skills are trailblazing.

Your responsibilities

  • Leading the support team and processes in 6B
  • Resolving bugs and other technical issues in live or development projects
  • Actioning change request tickets including adding/building new sections
  • Reviewing, analysing and debugging code written by someone else
  • Completing high volumes of tickets within agreed SLAs with our clients
  • Prioritising tickets and managing your own workload
  • Delivering excellent client communication
  • Working closely with our Client Success Director to manage and plan client work/retainers
  • Reporting to senior leadership team on support KPIs and statistics
  • Working on new PHP projects within the wider team

Skills, experience and traits you need to have

  • Excellent level of PHP and MYSQL knowledge
  • Good level of core understanding and experience with HTML, CSS and JavaScript
  • Excellent organisation and time management skills
  • Understanding of server management and domain name management
  • Ability to communicate with the team and customers effectively
  • Excellent analytical and multitasking skills
  • Passionate about delivering the very best customer service
  • Familiarity with browser testing and debugging
  • Worked in a support team previously with experience managing workloads/tickets
  • Performed in a fast-paced environment ideally within a small digital agency
